PASSPORT TO KNOWLEDGE - To MARS with MERWatch the Videos
"To MARS with MER" includes more than 6 hours of broadcast television, with 3 live and interactive programs designed for science centers, planetariums, homes, schools, and other informal science education venues, and 3 documentaries taking viewers behind the scenes of the Mars Exploration Rover mission--from years before launch, to landing and surface operations. What's common to all the programs is a focus on the diverse teams of people who designed, built, launched and operate the rovers. They come from all sorts of backgrounds, some with advanced academic degrees, some with high school diplomas, some senior researchers, some just out of college. You can read lots more about many of them in RESEARCH/ers. And you can see and hear several of the engineers and scientists as they answer questions from students and members of the general public. Check out the dozens of interactions from P2K's three live and interactive programs at:
TMwM also offers special web features, introducing you online to some of the men and women behind the rovers, as well as mini-documentaries of Marsapalooza, the lively 9-day, 5-city education and outreach tour that took 6 MER scientists and engineers on the road in December 2003.
