To MARS with MER - MER the Mission

MER the Mission

The best resources through which to find out about the Mars Exploration Rovers and their science mission are the comprehensive websites at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, managed for NASA by the California Institute of Technology, and Cornell University’s ATHENA site, home base for all about the science instruments and much more, including some of the Cool Scientists involved in the mission, weekly Journals about project development, dating back to 1999 and written by instrument team leader, Steve Squyres.

With three spacecraft - 2 from NASA and one from Europe - already in orbit around Mars, and "Spirit" and "Opportunity" now safely on the surface, there’s lots of breaking news. Here’s just a few headlines: for more, see NEW & NOW.
