To MARS with MER - GET INVOLVED!Broadcasts
Six hour-long programs are being broadcast as part of "To MARS with MER." The first, COUNTDOWN TO MARS (from Chicago, IL), aired live and interactive on May 1, 2003, SpaceDay, at 13:00 Eastern over participating PBS stations and NASA-TV. The second program, FIRST LOOK (from Houston, TX), designed for science centers and planetarium usage as well as for general public television audiences, aired on Saturday, January 17, 2004 and the third, NEW VIEWS (from St. Louis, MO), was distributed live via satellite on Saturday, May 1, 2004. Three prime time broadcasts, for general audiences, are also part of TMwM. The first, BOUNCING TO MARS, debuted on August 27, 2003, and has been subsequently aired or re-run by many PBS stations and NASA TV. WHAT WENT RIGHT and FOLLOWING THE WATER will be available to coincide with the the two-year anniversary of the successful landings, in January 2006.
