PASSPORT TO KNOWLEDGE - To MARS with MER

We know the rovers are looking for water on Mars, but my students want to know what else you found that you didn't expect?

We always say that Mars doesn't read our books. It has always been full of surprises. The big thing that caught us by surprise or actually excited us a great deal was the fact that we have evidence now that perhaps there was a shallow sea leaving behind the evidence in the rocks of a real environment for life where it started or present on Mars in the past.
