PASSPORT TO KNOWLEDGE - To MARS with MER

When I look at the pictures of Mars are there any patterns?

There are a lot of things that are seen on Mars. A lot of features and one of the things we try to answer is what made these features. Were they formed by wind making sand dunes? Were they erosionial cuts that were made by flowing water? Or were they due to some other process like volcanism or plate tectonics? That is one of the reasons why we want to go to Mars and to investigate and to understand out what made these very curious features on the surface.
