Polar Palooza - North
Return Back New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science NM Museum of Natural History & Science
October 22-24, 2007 - Albuquerque, New Mexico

New Mexico Museum of Natural History and SciencePOLAR-PALOOZA Albuquerque builds on the success of a previous day-long MARSAPALOOZA event, and the NM Museum of Natural History and Science (NMNHS) is a partner with P2K in coordinating the "Stories from a Changing Planet" National Tour. NMNHS plans to involve Native American and Hispanic educators in a K-12 workshop, and is exploring ways to integrate special sessions at the Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Several local researchers have been on location in Antarctica this past research season, and NMNHS hopes to involve Barbara Cohen (part of the ANSMET project, see PPZA podcast) and Phil Kyle, who's been studying volcanoes like Mt. Erebus, both in PPZA ABQ and in "Science Cafes" and other events throughout 2007-2009.
