Meteors
A meteor is what we call an object from space passing through earth's atmosphere... burning up
from friction as it goes.
And a meteorite, like these being gathered in Antarctica, is what we call a chunk of one of these
objects when it falls to earth.
Millions of meteors burn up in earth's atmosphere each day... hundreds of tons of matter in all,
but only a few survive to hit the surface.
