Future Mars Missions

2005 Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter
Scheduled for launch in 2005 the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter will be able to take images of the Martian surface with such clarity that it will be able to identify objects as small as a dinner plate providing valuable information about future landing sites. The orbiter will also serve as a communications link between future spacecraft and Earth.
