Why is the plane called the C-141?

ANSWER from Del Lewis (Pilot, Flight Missions Branch) on May 19:
The KAO is called a C-141 because the maker, Lockheed of Georgia, named it 
back in the early 1960's. It is also called Starlifter and our version is 
technically an L-300.
