QUESTION: Would you like to go again? ANSWER from Jim Cockrell on November 7, 1995: Never enough time to do it right; always enough time to do it over. ANSWER from Kurt Richter on November 11, 1995: My name is Kurt Richter and I am a FOSTER 95 participant. "FOSTER" stands for "Flight Opportunities for Science Teacher EnRichment". I am also a fifth grade teacher in Fairbanks, Alaska, at the brand new Anne Wien Elementary School. I flew on the Kuiper Airborne Observatory, a specially modified C-141 Jet that carries a 1.5 Meter telescope. I was an observer and a helper on my flight. We studied the infrared emissions from Jupiter's rings and also the metal emissions from NGC1068, a star cluster in the middle of the Milky Way Galaxy that the scientists think is a black hole. It was exciting flying with the KAO scientific team. I was able to fly on the KAO because of a grant that I wrote requesting an experience with NASA. My flight was even better than I thought it would be. I would fly with NASA scientists ANYTIME...and I am working at doing just that. Sincerely, Kurt Richter
