QUESTION: I saw in the newspaper that a new planet was discovered
near Pluto.  Is that true?

Astronomers found what they think to be a Jupiter sized planet
around the star 61 Pegasi. This star is somewhat like the sun and
is about 40 light years away. If this discovery is interpreted
correctly, then this is the first detection of a planet in another
solar system. Our solar system still has only 9 planets. It is
unlikely that another planet will be found in our solar system
because there is no evidence to suggest that another one exists.
