Were you able to see Hurricane Roxanne from your position? If so 
please describe it.  

ANSWER from April Whitt on November 3, 1995:
Just before the Oct. 5 broadcast from the KAO on the ground, my husband 
called and said, "No one will be watching today because the schools are 
closed." That was Hurricane Opal. 

Just before the flight on Oct. 12, during the preflight briefing, Mission 
Director Wendy Whiting asked the pilots what the weather was like. Terry 
Rager had a color printout that showed a big green spiral near the 
Yucatan (I'm pretty sure) in Mexico, and said that the storm was sitting 
there and would not be a problem to us during flight.

When we landed in Houston that afternoon it was cloudy and drizzly, but 
warm. That's about all that Roxanne did to us.
