We were discussing Roche limits in astronomy class and one student raised the question- does the sun have a Roche limit? Assuming it does- could there be a ring of material closer to the sun than Mercury in a manner similar to the rings of Uranus or Neptune? If there is a ring, other than the plane of the planets and assorted debris, where would a satellite have to be located to see it? Nelson S. Ford Arapahoe Community College Littleton, CO 80128
