Hi Folks,

Like a few other people have said, 'how did I get on this list?'

However, I want to stay here!

My name is Andrew Newstead
( A.C.Newstead@Derby.ac.uk ), I am the Science and Technology technician for the Primary Education Centre (Initial Teacher Training for primary schools) at the University of Derby, UK. As part of my role here, I check out new sources of information and id

eas that our student teachers can use in their teaching practice and for when they go out into the cruel world to teach for a living!
I would like to add this address to our 'Science News' noticeboard, if there are no objections from anybody here.

Speaking for myself for a moment, I'm a space technology and exploration enthusiast of many, many years standing ( I designed my first moonship when I was eight, I'm now 37 and still at at it, more more about this later! ). I am also an Adult Education Te

acher, specialising in IT and I have a very strong interest in issues pertaining to the public awareness/understanding of science and technology (and some strong views, too). I am a great believer in continuing education for everybody, of all ages.
I am a member of the Artemis Society International, a group supporting the Artemis Project. This project is centred around establishing a private industry moonbase, if anyone would like to know more check out our website at www.asi.org.
At the moment I am acting as the unofficial chairman of the developing UK chapter of ASI.
I am a Science Fiction fan and enjoy Star Trek and Babylon 5 a lot.

I am also a Civilian Instructor for the Air Training Corp.

Right, that's my introduction over with. I look forward with interest to looking in and contributing to the coming discussions.

Cheers for now and have fun!

Andrew.
