As a past recipient of this generous award from GTE I would like to add my
words of encouragement for list participants to find a partner and apply.

The monetary award is broken into two parts. $7,000 must be spent on your
school project (believe me, this isn't hard!) and you and your partner
must spend $5,000 on your professional development plan. My patner and I
used our professional development money to visit the major space centers
of the U.S. to study about the Space Station. It was awesome! The GTE
award opened doors and we enjoyed viewing behind the scenes...in fact, we
received VIP treatment!

GTE also flew all recipients to Boston and then D.C. for a week long
seminar and made us feel that what we do for children is very important.

If you would like more information, or if you would like me to read your
proposal and offer my input I'd be delighted to help.

Don't wait until the last minute to apply as the application requires a
lot of planning and detailed information. But if you have a dream project
this is a wonderful way to finance it!

Best of luck!
