Marilyn *********************** I would like to announce the GTE GIFT Program, a $12,000 Grant Opportunity for MATH and SCIENCE Teachers. Growth Initiatives For Teachers (GIFT) is a grant program funded by GTE Corporation for public and private school math and science teachers, grades 7 to 12 (grade 6 only if in a middle or junior high school) in eligible states. Every year, GTE awards GIFT grants to 60 teams of one math teacher and one science teacher from the same school who have developed projects that integrate math and science and use technology in an innovative way. Each winning team shares a $12,000 grant; $7,000 for a school enrichment project and $5,000 ($2,500 for each) for professional development activities. Applicants must teach in one of the following states: AL, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NH, NM, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, WV, WI.
