What a great bulletin board display could be made out of all the articles, magazine covers, etc. for fall! *** Mars Pathfinder mission a triumph beyond dreams 12:08 PM ET 07/11/97 "Beyond my wildest dreams" has become the catch-phrase of space scientists as the Mars Pathfinder mission sends back a wealth of data from the Red Planet that even the scientists had not dared hope for. Pathfinder and its "little engine that could," the Sojourner Rover, have told scientists about a huge flood that covered the Ares Vallis basin, the site of the landing, about 4 billion years ago. The rover revealed the mineral composition of rocks that show Mars and Earth are probably "solar twins" in the way they were formed.
