Dear Seth and all, Seth wrote... >Yesterday, my students and I were tuned in to NASA TV to watch the live >telecast of Touchdown (Part B) and it wasn't there! The voice of NASA said >it had been cancelled. (Our local PBS station had already told me that they >would not air it until fall...argh.) > >Well, I logged onto the Web to see if I could get some info. I went to the >RealVideo simulcast page (Classroom of the Future) and there it was, in >progress! > >Did anyone else find it not on the air? Do any of you know what happened? Seth LFM's Touchdown + 6! *was* scheduled to be aired live on NASA-TV (GE-2, Transponder 9C) July 9th but for some "yet to be known" reason the first hour of the program was not aired. PTK did make sure to have a >>>back-up plan<<< in place as satellite time was secured on GE-2, Transponder 21 (same satellite on which NASA-TV is found, just different channel). PTK is checking with the NASA-TV folks on the glitch. I, personally, watched the full program on Transponder 21 in LaCrosse, WI. NASA-TV can be pre-empted by mission exigencies and other late breaking events. We hope to have the July programs re-airing on NASA-TV for all who missed them and will post info as soon as it is made available. The tapes will also be available for purchase in the coming weeks, again "info to be posted in the future" on this list. Sincerely, Jan Wee, Moderator
