Hello LFM & Red Rover Enthusiasts, If you were excited about viewing the 3-D stereo images from Pathfinder, you might be interested to learn that you can create such images on your own computer. The really GOOD news is that if your students created a Martian landscape for the Red Rover project, you probably already have all the tools you will need. By taking two side-by-side ( 1-2 inches apart ) pictures from your QuickCam ( already mounted on your Lego Dacta rover ) and saving them as grayscale, you can then use the free software program NIH Image to stack them, add a third all black slice, and then convert RGB to 8-bit color. Convert to gif or jpeg and your students can even share their stereo images with others on the web. You will need blue-red glasses to see the 3-D effect. Please e-mail back if you need more detailed instructions. Happy to Contribute, Tim McCollum ..............................................................................
