Just read Ken's great summary of the conference in Texas. One of my mentors, Sheri Klug was lucky enough to attend the same con- ference and told us about it at our Project Search meeting last night. When I got home and dived into May's issue of the Smithsonian Magazine, I was delighted to see an article about Black Smokers and the "un-Earth" like life one finds at the bottom of the ocean. I recommend a look at this article to help teachers and kids understand exactly what scientist might consider life on another planet. Have a good read
