What a program! First, we didn't get the satellite dish reprogramming finished until 12:59:30 DST...honest. There is a horror story attached to the reprogramming, but that's for another day. When we saw the signal finally come through, we were all nearly in tears. I can't tell you how exciting it was for our students to hear their questions being asked. This is the first time we have ever had this opportunity and they are strutting their stuff now! It was interesting how impressed the students were with Donna Shirley..the others also. But I was keenly aware of the impression that was left when they realized that she was the boss of a project that had so many scientists and engineers attached to it. Thanks to Geoff, Erna, Jan, and the whole PTK crew and the JPL folks for more excitement than I have witnessed in a long time. I can still hear them saying, "We did that.....and this is great!"
