Dear discuss-lfm members, For your info... Jan Wee, moderator O-> O-> O-> O-> O-> O-> O-> O-> O-> O-> O-> O-> O-> O-> O-> O-> THE INTERNATIONAL MARSWATCH ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER ------------------------------------------------- Special Bulletin March 6, 1997 Circulation: 657 <-O <-O <-O <-O <-O <-O <-O <-O <-O <-O <-O <-O <-O <-O <-O <-O Friends of Mars, This is just a quick notice informing you that the next series of HST observations of Mars will be obtained this coming Monday, March 10, from 0630 to 1830 Greenwich Mean Time (UT). These observations will cover three separate hemispheres through many different color filters. Supporting groundbased visual observations, photographs, drawings, or CCD images of Mars shortly before, during, and shortly after this time period could be extremely helpful in interpreting the HST data. If you are able to obtain observations, please email your results or upload them using the instructions at the URL: http://mpfwww.jpl.nasa.gov/mpf/marswatch_ftp.html The next planned set of HST images wil occur around March 26-31. More details will be forthcoming. --Jim Bell ----------------------------------------------------------------- Jim Bell Cornell University Department of Astronomy Center for Radiophysics and Space Research 424 Space Sciences Building Ithaca, NY 14853-6801 phone: 607-255-5911 fax: 607-255-9002 email: jimbo@marswatch.tn.cornell.edu WWW: http://marswatch.tn.cornell.edu -----------------------------------------------------------------
