Dear discuss-lfm members,

We thought this group might have a good number of former
NEWEST/NEWMAST members. Please let Ruth know if you are
one and also post to the discuss-lfm forum.

Thanks,

Hi all,
Just out of curiosity, how many people in the LFA programs are also
graduates of the NEWEST or NEWMAST programs? I was in the first
NEWEST program at the Kennedy Space Center in June 1988. Barbara Morgan,
the next Teacher in Space was with us for several days. We learned a
tremendous amount about the Hubble Space Telescope, the shuttles, and
ventures to Mars. It was a
fabulous experience!
All the discussion about attending the NSTA Convention brought that
to mind because our group had a reunion in Seattle in 1989, I think it was,
when we presented information about our experience in the NEWEST program.

This is Debora Mosher from F.W. Cox High School.
I was at NEWMAST 1996 at Goddard - What a great time.
I encourage anyone to attend. I teach Oceanography and Astronomy to 11/12
graders.

I will also attend many of the astronomy sessions at the NSTA. I was
fortunate to be selected as a TANDY Scholarship Winner. We will be honored at
NSTA. Therefore, this Conf. will be special.
