*** Martian life could have survived the trip to Earth

The meteorite that last year sparked reports of possible life on Mars
yielded evidence Thursday suggesting microscopic life from the Red
Planet might well have survived the trip to Earth. In two studies
published in Science, researchers added new weight to the theory that
tiny structures on a gray rock found in Antarctica are tiny fossils of
Martian life. The research does not confirm that life on Mars exists,
but discounts skeptics who believe no trace of life could exist in the
meteorite because it formed at high temperatures. For the full text
