Subject> Fly yours and your student's names on a NASA spacecraft

To fly your name, simply mail a plain postcard with your signatures on the
non-address side to:

Cassini Program
Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)
4800 Oak Grove Drive
Pasadena, CA 91109-8099

Sorry, no E-mail can be accepted.

Here is how it works:

Your signature will be scanned from the postcard and stored on a CD-ROM (or
newer digital storage medium). The CD-ROM will be placed inside the new
Cassini spacecraft, and your signature (along with many others) will be
flown on a deep-space journey, with plans to go into orbit around the
ringed-planet Saturn in the next decade.

The Planetary Society will be helping us Cassini folks by sorting through
the incoming mail to find out where it's coming from, and by also scanning
the signatures into digital form for later transfer to the flight CD-ROM.

Postcards will be accepted until January 1, 1997, or until the CD-ROM is
full. Notification will appear when postcards can no longer be accepted.
Confirmation that your signature has made it onto the CD-ROM can only be
provided if you enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope along with your
signature card.

It's that simple. In fact, you can even have your friends and family
members/students can all sign the same postcard. It is both fun and
personally exciting to imagine one's signature aboard a large robot craft
bound for another planet. You can be proud to be a member of a society that
has made this possible by its quest to explore and by its pursuit of new
