Subject: Pathfinder Launch

Hi Everyone,
It was a great day today since the Pathfinder actually launched. I
was able to tape the launch from a late night news program "Up to the
Minute" . I showed my kids the launch tape along with a JPL Pathfinder
tape I had gotten from my sister in Texas; I wore my special Mars
T-shirt: and I gave my kids Mars bars to celebrate. It was fun. We also
watched about the water found on the moon and had an interesting
discussion about future space travel. My kids are debating what to put
into their P.E.T. kit tomorrow. Hopefully we'll reach consensus by the
deadline.
I also got to watch Donna Shirley on Good Morining America, but
wasn't prepared to tape it. It was a good interview and informational
spot. Some of my students saw it too. It's fun to watch people you've
met on TV and to be so knowledgeable about and aware of what's happening.
Adds to the excitement.
