Here are our upcoming "Ask the Scientist" CuSeeMe videoconferences:
Reflector: 128.42.249.172 (if it isn't working, try 198.64.198.250)
For more info: http://space.rice.edu/ and choose "video"

December 2 (and following): We will keep "NASA TV" online
in both color (for enhanced viewers) and black and white
in support of Mars Pathfinder launch, shuttle operations, and
associated press conferences.
(sound will be in the B/W window only).

December 3, 12:00 - 1pm CST: "I Like my Beaches in Colorado"
Join Rice Geology Professor Robyn Wright Dunbar
as she talks about the forces that have shaped the continent.
Her own research investigates the sandstone from ancient beaches in Colorado,
a vivid proof of the vast sea which once covered the great plains.
She will answer any geology-related questions.

December 3, 7 - 9 pm CST: "Brownfields"
Public forum on solid waste disposal techniques.
Cosponsored by the Citizens' Environmental Coalition and
Rice's Energy and Environmental System Institute.

December 10, 10:00 - 10:30 CST: "Treasures of the Mineral Kingdom"
Join Joel Bartsch, Curator of Gems and Minerals,
in an exploration of the beautiful mineral collection at the
Houston Museum of Natural Science. This conference is part of the
HMNS "Science Quest" series.

As always, use the "talk" (or "chat") window (only!) to ask questions - the
speaker's comments will be summarized there for folks with low-bandwidth
connections. (If "talk" doesn't show up on your menu bar, download
"Cu-SeeMe Talk" from Cornell).
