I just purchased William Sheehan's new book "The Planet Mars" published by University of Arizona Press (Where else?) ISBN: 0-8165-1641-3 Paperback $19.95. In hardcover for those of you with bags of money, I think it's $44. Now as I said I just got it. It looks very scholarly. The prints are all black and white and there are many of them. I can see why the hardcover is so expensive. Half to three-quarter page portraits of all the priciple characters in the Mars story are there. The book is heavily foot-noted with a huge bibliography. If you're looking for something a tad deeper (and newer) than Wilford's "Mars Beckons," this could be the one. Enjoy. Charlie Lindgren
