Some of you may be interested in the following resource. They include three HyperStudio Stacks for use with students who are studying Mars. The materials listed here were developed by Rose Galitzer, galitzer@umd5.umd.edu. "These Hyperstudio stacks are templates to be completed by students. I have used these templates in my classroom to focus our learning on plant growth and genetics. Following discussions concerning manned missions to Mars and the need to grow plants as a food source, my students conducted controlled experiments on the environmental factors needed for plants to grow in space. In addition students worked on the cross pollinating Brassica and correctly predicting the outcome of the crosses. While my students frequently use Hyperstudio to make their own presentations, I have found that using templates is a time saver in getting past student decision making about the layouts for each card in the stack." I have posted information and links to the stacks on our web server http://www.macomb.k12.mi.us/mars/marshs.htm I have included directions and a link for downloading the free HyperStudio Player. I have posted them in Macintosh format. Once they are downloaded you should be able to use them on a Windows machine if you own HyperStudio. Please contact me if you have any questions.
