JASON PROJECT

I hope this is't heretical, but has/is anyone doing the JASON project 
which focuses more on earthly things?  I have to teach everything, so 
can't just focus on space.  Would love some recommendations.  Is it 
worth it for high school students with middle school skills?  Thanks,
