Hawaii astronomy

To LFM Hawaii folks:  Hi there!  I am planning a trip to the Big Island in
late June and was wondering what opportunities there were to spend nights
at observatories atop Mauna Kea or Mauna Loa.  Are there local astronomy
groups that have frequent star parties and do they schedule far enough in
advance for tourists like me to plan trips around them?
