Hello everyone, It is wonderful hearing all of the great stories about the eclipse. Being a college prof in the midst of a hectic semester, I didn't have time to organize a formal party; however, I decided to make it a family event. I printed all of the wonderful material about the eclipse and the excellent stories of how different cultures celebrate moon-gazing. The children were so excited (ages 12, 10, 6, and 3). Now the sad part...my daughter (12) and son (6) came home from school with a fever. Then, to top things off, the sky was horribly overcast! What was a mom to do? Well, we had an in-door story time so everyone could take part in some of the party. Then my remaining clan and I packed in our car and took off for the observatory at Oglebay Park, only to be found that it was closed! We did get to see a great bit of the eclipse flitting in and out of teh clouds. And my son (10) and daughter (3) had a great time sharing your stories with moon-gazers from our area. Our lunar picnic was a success, despite the clouds! As we headed back to our car, we spotted a majestic stag gazing up at the clouds. In a small voice, my three year old whispered "Grandmother Moon must be pleased". Thanks guys, for the great stories! You can bet I will share your adventures with them. Looking forward to the next one in 2000! Cindy Bonfini-Hotlosz
