Hi Moon Watchers, Looks like the best viewing for tonight's lunar eclipse from the Midwest will be from 30,000 ft. However, if you want to share a "virtual" version of the eclipse with your students, there are several excellent astronomy software packages available. We're using Red Shift, an absolutely amazing CD-ROM which came with our new Power Macs. Not only do some programs demonstrate eclipses, but those like Red Shift let you pick out the actual eclipse and viewing angle. Not as exciting as the real thing but a worthy substitute.
