Hello PTK advocates,
I am enjoying the on-line discussions and marvel at your creativity
and resourcefulness. Our PBS station in St. Paul agreed last Friday to
carry the telecasts on their Monday evening science program slot. I am
pleased with that decision for I believe it will reach a wider viewing
audience than the live telecasts.
Secondly, I called a meeting with the space grant college outreach
coordinator. Apparently, NASA is stipulating that money be given only to
teacher development or for consumable materials. I have invited her to our
October 18th meeting of the Minnesota Science Teachers where Lois and I
will explain the PTK program to colleagues. She has agreed to purchase 30
copies of LFM for this group and join us. What we really want, however, is
for the University of Minnesota to fund the Red Rover program. Have any of
you had success or written a grant for Red Rover equipment to a space grant
college? Wondering in Minnesota...mj
