Hi Bruce!

Hey, this sounds NEAT!

I haven't done anything with the Internet this year YET, but we've only been
in school for a week. I'm still going over class rules and such. I'll need
a few more weeks before the children will be ready to fly a simulation.

This year, we're going to coordinate our efforts with NASA like never
before. I was invited to attend the "Live From Mars" conference in
Washington, D.C. this past July, along with educators from all across the
country. There were even some people from Canada and Europe in attendance.
The whole event was dedicated to promoting NASA's "Passport to Knowledge"
teleprojects, especially the exciting "Live From Mars" project that will
begin with the launch of Mars Global Surveyor and Mars Pathfinder later this
year.

We're going to conduct an overnight simulation on the days in which these
spacecraft are launched. I hope to involve many other space simulation
enthusiasts throughout the Internet. I have to make a presentation to our
School Board this coming Tuesday, but after that I will begin working out
the details for our space simulations commemorating these two historic
events. I know that we will incorporate Internet e-mail, webchat, and
CU-SeeMe videoconferencing, but we may be able to utilize RealAudio, create
a temporary interactive web site, and get the local amateur radio community
involved. It all depends on how much my students and I can get done in the
time we have.

I can't WAIT! This is going to be the BEST year we've ever had!

I'm VERY interested! Perhaps we could arrange for some Internet
interactivity with simulation enthusiasts here and abroad. Wendy?
Valentina? Fred? Are you listening?

<grin>

Seriously, thank you for considering me for your conference. I would
appreciate additional information.

Best regards,
Chris
