What sort of system was used for attitude determination? Were the 8
hydrazine thrusters the only means of attitude control?

ANSWER from Pieter Kallemeyn:
Attitude determination was performed using 5 sun sensors and one star
scanner.  Attitude control was achieved using the 8 thrusters on the cruise
stage, the same ones that were used for interplanetary TCM's.
