QUESTION:
When humans start colonizing Mars, how will they address waste management
issues? Are they just going to "bury it" like here on Earth?

Because of extremely limited resources on Mars, I expect that they will try
to recycle just about everything.  While recycling most things is not cost
effective on Earth, the incredible expense of sending something to Mars will
make it cost effective to recycle everything, if possible, that is used or
consumed.
