QUESTION:
I would like to ask you if the people who work in the NASA robotics 
area, did they design the pathfinder and if so I am interested in 
getting into that kind of career in the future.

ANSWER from Guy Beutelschies on March 28, 1997:
A large group of people designed Mars Pathfinder.  We had people from
Robotics work on the Rover, as well as scientists and engineers from a 
wide range of backgrounds.  The best way to get a job working on 
these projects is study Math and Science, get a college degree in 
engineering (although we do have people with Physics and other 
degrees) and then keep appyling for jobs at a NASA center (like JPL) 
or contractor until they hire you.  Good Luck!
