Who made the SSPA used on the lander, and are there any specifications for
it online anywhere? I noticed that you monitor rf power in dBm to three
decimal places.  What kind of detector do you use to get that kind of
precision?

ANSWER from Smart Filter on October 5, 1997:
Mars Pathfinder uses a 12 Watt RF output X-band SSPA (Solid State Power
Amplifier) transmitter to downlink data back to Earth. The X-SSPA was
designed, built and tested at JPL.
