How long do you keep a penguin in the lab?

Dear Mr. Holz's class,

The work that we do with the penguins doesn't require that we bring them
into the lab at all.  Instead, we go to the penguin colonies where the
penguins live.  Some scientists have studied penguins that were living in
little corrals outside their field stations, but Antarctic penguins
wouldn't be very "happy" in the lab for  very long because it would be too
warm for them.  We would have to keep them in a refrigerator!
