QUESTION: My question is about weather. What is the average high temperature and the average low temperature for each season in Antarctica? Thank you for answering my question. Sal B., from Orangewood Elementary School in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm in the sixth grade. ANSWER from Sheldon Blackman, Communications Tech., Sr. Palmer Station, Antarctica Mon, 3 Mar 1997 13:47:15 -0500 Dear Sal, First of all, the temperatures in Antarctica vary greatly depending on the location in Antarctica. For instance, here at Palmer we experience warmer temperatures than most other places in Antarctica, with the average high temperature at about +36 F and the average low about +14 F. In contrast, at South Pole the average high temperarture is about -30F and the average low temperature is about -80F. South Pole is considered the coldest spot on the continent. Sheldon Blackman
