QUESTION: Is it summer there now? (Please describe what it's like) From Adam, Fourth grader at Peter Boscow Elementary School Hillsboro, Oregon ANSWER from Annie Devereaux, NASA ACTS Satellite Team, Palmer Station, Antarctica Fri, 14 Feb 1997 13:10:58 -0300 Dear Adam, Yes, January and February are "high summer" here, where things are at their warmest. The days generally tend to be cool and overcast, maybe about 40 deg F. We've actually gotten a lot of rain here in the last two months, with just a few days of snow. All in all, the weather has been quite mild, about as nice as you can expect for Antarctica, but every now and again the winds pick up and then the temperature can drop severely. Thanks for your question! Annie
