QUESTION:
Skiing and boating have both been described as forms of recreation.  Does
anyone ever go fishing in the recreational sense?

Dear Spring Creek Students,

Folks used to go fishing for fun, but in the three+ years that I've
been coming to Antarctica, I haven't seen any purely recreational
fishing.  When there are science groups on station that study fish
they will occasionally have a need for a number of fish of a kind
that can be caught just offshore, and then everyone who is interested
is encouraged to break out a fishing rod and try his/her luck.
