QUESTION: You mentioned that aboard the Polar Duke, "eating is not on the to-do list." I am curious about what things are on the "to-do list." Marissa R., 8th Grader, Juan Morel Campos Intermediate 71, Brooklyn, NY ANSWER from SCOTT ENLOW, Videographer, Palmer Station, Antarctica Thu, 30 Jan 1997 I would say that eating is not on the "to-do" list mainly because the pitching and swells of the Drake Passage are so intense that few venture out of their bunks for meals in the galley. Sea sickness is bad enough without a stomach full of food to add to the discomfort. I found that watching a movie in the lounge helped, whether it just took my mind off of my stomach or if there was something about a stable chair and TV with no visible tilt to the horizon through port holes that did it, but for some reason it worked.
